The cabinets are almost all installed. Only the island needs to be fixed in place.

Now if we could decide on what to use for th backsplash. I like this glass tile that has a slight coke bottle green look. My daughter likes a hand painted subway tile.
If you're installing it yourself, don't use the glass tile. It looks nice, but it's a PIA to install. One of the other deciding factors for us was the certain knowledge that the glass tile will be dated in a few years, but given our (and your) track record, it will be at least a couple decades before it would get replaced. Stick with normal, traditional stuff and you never run that risk.

ReplyDeleteThe place is looking great! I'm going to miss that pole though ... sometimes that was the only thing keeping me from falling over on my way to the fridge for another beer, back in the old pokerfest days.
I think you will now have more cabinets than our local Home Depot showroom.
Hope I will actually get to see the finished product in person sometime soon.
